This worked immediately, but PLEASE NOTE that this cable does NOT carry sound like a HDMI. so you will see the picture but will have to get the sound through another way (pc speakers, for example). It is nothing to do with the cable - the cable works!- it's that apple have not produced this for the machines (as they do not have HDMI). just wish I knew this because we spent ages trying to figure out how to get sound, so don't want to waste your time too! def recommend!

Make sure you check the description, this is for a Mac Mini Display Port NOT a Mac Mini DVI, which is what the second and third images are of!
Hope this helps someone and they don't order the wrong item like me, doh!
