Great bit of kit with a remote that feels like a quality unit - not the usual flimsy bit of bendy plastic rubbish you get with most remotes. Great idea - record TV on a REMOVABLE drive (USB stick or a USB HDD) - put your recording straight into a pc for editing/doctoring/archiving by using any app that handles mpeg files. Gives you about 30 mins per Gig. What a pity arrogant old Humax et al didn't have the gumption to provide an external HDD or USB memory stick facility on their freeview or freesat boxes. Grundig - a hearty congratulations for displaying some common sense and giving people what they want!
One cautionary note though - some el-cheapo USB memory sticks are too slow for this device. And be aware that some high capacity SD cards in USB adapters (in fact all of mine) simply don't work. Also be aware that, unlike the Humax freesat and freeview recorders I have which automatically record the tuned-to channel for delayed-playback (like when someone comes to the door and you want to rewind to see the bit of Corry that you missed), you have to put this baby into record mode manually first - then it does it. This is probably my only criticism. Most of my USB sticks (4G to 64G) work OK and I'm really happy with this lil ol gal. And at 60 quid or so if you shop around, you'd be a plonker not to get one. It certainly gets my vote!
