I'm not a complete technophobic but it took me ages to work through the over-complicated instruction book. The space taken up by the advertising box on the guide page is irritating and if you want to record one freeview programme and watch another you can't! Gripes out of the way this box does have a lot going for it, the series link is easy to use and who needs instuction books any way?

Writing as a non-technical nearly 75-year old, I'm just getting used to recording onto the Hard Disc Drive, but haven't tried recording to Discs yet. Very pleased with the quality and no problems so far. In fact, today we have taken delivery of an identical Recorder to use with my kitchen TV, so that speaks for itself.

I bought this as a present. It arrived promptly and was very easy to set up, recording on to hard disk works very well - we have not tried recording onto dvd yet. Picture quality excellent on normal format, I don't know anything about hi-def.
Panasonic freeview+ Hard Disc Drive DVD recorder January 25, 2010 B. Harper 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I do find it amazing that you can pause and rewind live TV. It's great being able to do things like start watching a programme half an hour after it has started and be able to watch it from the beginning whilst it is still recording. It was fantastic getting rid of all my old video tapes and just be able to store all recorded programmes on the hard drive. The only negative point i have got is that you cannot record 2 different programmes at the same time, where as with the Humax you can do this.
