The Inverto IDL-7000m is a twin digital TV tuner Personal Video Recorder (PVR) with an internal 80GB hard drive and a slim line brushed silver metal case making this set top box extremely stylish. What this means is that you can view one digital freeview channel on your Inverto IDL7000m whilst recording another. Alternatively record 2 channels at the same time. With picture in picture on the Inverto set top box you can view what's happening on one channel whilst watching another. The internal 80GB hard drive on the IDL7000m means that you have ample space to record hours worth of TV (up to approx 60 hours of TV programmes) and with subtitle recording on the Inverto IDL7000m you can ensure that subtitles are not missed off of your recorded programmes if required. With a 14 day electronic programme guide (EPG) which is automatically updated every night you can view what's on when and easily set your recordings from the EPG so that you don't miss any of your favourite programmes. The Inverto IDL7000m also automatically buffers the previous 30 minutes of the channel you are watching. What this means is that you can rewind and pause live TV so that you don't miss any of your favourite programmes when the door bell rings or when a cup of tea is required! View all your recorded programmes in the IDL7000m personal media manager area where each recorded programme has a thumbnail image of the recorded programme so it's easy to see which programmes you want to watch and which should be deleted.

utter pile of crap, don,t buy this July 19, 2010

Purchased this idl7000m, a month ago, its fiddly to use, it,s not very clear what mode it,s in and now the EPG guide no longer functions, so timer recording is a no-no. I have emailed and phoned inverto.uk, no reply, neither dose anyone pickup the phone, so this unit will go back to Amazon, for a refund. I have heard on the internet, that I,m not the only one with this problem.

Could do a lot better July 12, 2010

Initially I was pleased with all the features of this PVR, quiet, looks good, easy to use and having a 320GB version made it even better for storing large capacities of recordings but as time has gone on (owned 2 years now) the glitches have come thick and fast despite numerous downloads of firmware (not been updated since 2007 so it seems they don't really care and I don't expect any new firmware to be released, it is in effect obsolete and unsupported now!). To name a few: sudden blank screen, picture freeze, sudden crashes (failure to respond to controls) failure to record, sudden deletion of recorded programmes, refusal to play back programme recordings and many others. Rebooting upto 4 times a day just to get it active again isn't right and hugely frustrating. I don't think the technology is great for these or any PVR's, not many get away without any problems what so ever but that's what happens when you put unstable software in control of hardware and it goes a bit awry. 2 years use even under £100 is disappointing to say the least, off to the skip but have no clear replacement in mind.Grrr!!

It's an excellent machine, but the 14 day EPG service has just been discontinued. So unless you're happy with just now-and-next.....
