Product Description
August DA900C is a newly developed model. It is a digital and analogue TV and digital media player and recorder with integrated card reader and USB jack. It receives over 40 Freeview channels, 5 analogue channels and all digital radio stations and plays video, music, photos in MP3, WAV, MPEG4, AVI, JPEG formats directly from memory cards, USB sticks and from external media with USB interface. It also supports real-time and scheduled Freeview TV recording to an USB stick or external hard disc.

It is an ideal portable TV and media player for holidays, cars, boats, bedrooms and kitchens and can also output TV, video and photos to a large sized screen in your home working as a Freeview box and digital media player. It can also be used as a monitor for your game consoles and other video players

Accessories include: Mains power adaptor (100-240V 50/60Hz), Stand for both vertical and horizontal positions, A/V cable, External portable antenna with magnetic base, Telescopic antenna, Earphones, Remote control with battery and User manual.

Please note that there may be difficulty to receive Freeview TV signal by the included portable antenna in some areas where the signal is not sufficiently strong. This is due to that the Freeview service (freeview.co.uk) in the UK does not fully support portable TV antenna at present. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program (digitaluk.co.uk). A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (Please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to Freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required to watch Freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

4 out of 5 stars August 9" TV   July 8, 2010
J. M. Morris (dundee scotland)
I bought this tv for the kitchen and I love it.I get all the freeview channels and the sound is good.I have used an SD card to view photos on slide show and listen to music to good effect. It records well on to a USB stick. However I cannot get the schedule recording to work on Wakeup- Timer. It starts recording on time but will not switch off when the programme finishes. That being said it is not a huge problem because this is a secondary recording system in our house anyway and it works well using the direct record button and pressing yellow during recording to set the duration.
All in all this is great piece of equipment which I would recommend without hesitation.

5 out of 5 stars Could not be better   June 21, 2010
G. D. Busby (Cornwall)
This product was received a few hours ago (rapid delivery) and does all it claims to. We live in one of the first areas, in the UK, to switch over to digital transmission only and I wonder if this is why it works so well on the telescopic aerial alone. It is fantastic!

5 out of 5 stars How to get better sound quality from your August TV.   June 15, 2010

On reading people's reviews on these brilliant little August tv's, the sound quality is poor, but help is at hand!!! if you purchase a resonably priced(say around £15.00) 2+1 sub woofer & speakers and connect them to the headphone jack on the tv.....WOW what a difference..... and whats more you still have control of the volume through the tv's own remote control switch, try it it worked for me.
PS. This will also work on any make of digital tv no matter how big or small, the only suggestion I would make is the bigger the tv the bigger the 2+1 you will need but you don't need to spend to much money, this will also work (with a little extra wiring) on Sky and Freeview receiver box'es as well.

5 out of 5 stars Portable TV   June 10, 2010

We bought this small TV hoping to be able to use it in the kitchen and on our boat and maybe in the garden during the summer months. It worked OK when connected to the main aerial, but unfortunately it didn't work so well with a portable aerial. Maybe the signal in our area is too weak.
