Product Description
Geniatech T1680 turns your laptop/PC to a portable digital multimedia center and enables you to watch two Freeview and high definition TV channels simultaneously and listen to over 20 digital radio stations, record your favourite TV programmes on your hard drive with instant, time-shifting and schedule recording modes. It comes with a professional and user friendly software interface, a portable TV antenna and remote control. All you need to do is to plug the device into a USB port of your computer, insert the CD and install the software by following the instructions. Your computer will start working immediately for you as a portable high-definition TV and DVD recorder. It is compatible with the latest Windows Vista, comes with sleek and compact design and high quality finish. An indoor antenna is provided to watch Freeview in the areas where the signal is strong, an amplified antenna may improve reception and a rooftop aerial should be used in some regions. An aerial adaptor is also provided for you to connect this device to your roof top aerial. Please note that there may be difficulty to receive freeview TV signal by the included portable antenna in some areas where the signal is not sufficiently strong. This is due to that the freeview service (www.freeview.co.uk) in the UK does not fully support portable TV antenna at present. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program(http://www.digitaltelevision.gov.uk). A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required to watch freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

This works fine if you are using a roof antenna, but the picture can still be lost and the sound can be choppy, however most of the time it works realy well.

1 out of 5 stars don't work   September 20, 2008

Purchased this item to put on Vista Business laptop (new high spec from Dell) when it arrived it did not have the external aerial connector nor would it load onto my machine. I contacted the help line and we managed to install the software. They said they would send the external aerial connector by post. Two days later it arrived so I set it up ready for scan. Using a digital aerial which already transmits digital to computers and tv's in the house. After several lengthy scans managed to get some channels but not watchable, kept stopping and starting plus the sound was very jerky. Spent far to much time trying to get it to work and in the end couldn't. There would be little to no chance with the little antenna that comes with it an external aerial would be a must in most areas but for some reason it did not work for me.
