Lupo Digital TV DVB-T USB dongle February 24, 2010 D. Martin (Romsey, Hampshire, England) Speedy delivery. Very neat small package. I had a problem with the software but an email to the seller on a Sunday evening was answered within 20 minutes! Of course it's better if you have a good antenna to drive it. I bought an antenna connection cable which connects to my roof antenna. Result - about 60 channels. Great picture and I like the programme guide.
limited life span February 24, 2010 NigC (London) I bought this TV dongle in 2008 and used it, on and off, for about a year; then it stopped functioning.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times to no avail.
I had to attach a more substantial indoor aerial, with limited success, as the aerial supplied is useless. Directioning the aerial is critical prior to tuning the dongle.
When set up correctly you can get all the freeview channels and several radio stations. You can also record tv using the software provided.
I liked this item when it worked as it has some useful features and it was relatively inexpensive at the time, but it stopped working about a year after i bought it; built in obsolesence?
Also, there is no after sale support.
Im sure its good February 11, 2010 Mr. R. J. Doubtfire (Kent, UK) Arrived very fast indeed.
Now here is the odd thing. I give it 4 stars but to be honest I cant get it to pick up anything yet. Im using the arial which came with it and am in an area which has not had a digital switch over yet so I knew I was pushing it.
I have installed it on Vista 32bit and 7 64bit and as long as you allow it to search windows update, it installs automaticly. I used windows media center to use the device and it did register a dvt stick attached but upon a scan it couldnt find anything.
Im sure in an area with a better signal it will work but when I bought it I knew i was pushing my luck somewhat but its well built and no doubt will come in handy in the future.
Works very well - once you've made it work February 6, 2010 Niels Viggo Hansen (Denmark) I am very pleased with this cheap hardware-software bundle which very effectively turns my laptop into a mpeg2-mpeg4 tv receiver - I use it a lot when travelling or when I just need an extra TV for the kids. Great value for money. But it took quite some effort to make it work. Firstly, the small indoor aereal included could not be assembled (a screw had disappeared into the plastic footpiece), so I had to replace it with a homemade antenna (cutting the set's coax cable and wire-wrappiong the central wire with a 1 m single wire - this works perfectly!) Secondly, the software supplied on a CD-ROM returned an error massage stating that the license period had run out and a new one must be bought. However, I googled and downloaded a new version of the program file and installed it off the web - and it worked with the licence code supplied, and has worked perfectly since then.
I get a good stable TV signal even far out in the countryside.
So - if you don't mind spending time on this kind of tinkering, consider the product five-star, if you hate it consider it one-star.
Avoid unless you live under a transmitter January 15, 2010 Mr. D. Evered (Leeds) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Refer to title. Never had a peep from this device despite living close to Leeds city centre
