1 out of 5 stars It did not work at all   July 6, 2010
Rakh
I tried making it work in different positions (unobstructed)around the house but could not get it to detect even a single channel with the tiny antenna provided. Asking the customer to shell out another 15 or so quid for a powerful antenna is just not right.
I sent it back and amazon provided a swift refund.

4 out of 5 stars Impressive responce   June 19, 2010

I was most impressed by the time this item was delivered. Said upto 5 working days but arrived in only in two. The product is adequate for my needs as I sometimes have to travel around Britian for work and it's always handy to have a portable tv with you ie my laptop.

1 out of 5 stars Total waste of money   May 11, 2010

This product didn't work as expected. I realise the quality of the freeview will depend on the area you are operating in. It doesn't work at all without being plugged into a roof aerial. Even with it, only one or two channels worked with pixelation and distortion, even at home where our normal freeview box works fine. I wish I hadn't wasted my money.

I bought this about a year ago but due to house moves I never set it up. Tried it with the little supplied aerial and found it as much use as a chocolate teapot. I live halfway up a hill with clear views all the way across a valley so signal strength has never been an issue.
I bought a coaxial extension for the rooftop aerial and plugged it into the tuner via the supplied converter plug. The supplied software is fantastic, very user friendly and has a dvd player that accepts all regions of dvd.
However, I tend to use it with Windows Media Center and upon the first scan I got 41 channels but some kept freezing. I checked my connections and found my coaxial to be loose in the socket. Re-connected, re-scanned and now get 71 channels of tv and radio.

I recommend this little device to anyone. It is brilliant for the small price you pay. TV on a 19 inch widescreen whilst editing photo's or web browsing is easy.

Note; the supplied remote will only work properly when the supplied software player is used and not Windows Media Center.

1 out of 5 stars Software expires after 30 days   February 22, 2010

Well it worked fine, I installed the software and and scanned the channels, got about 65 - including all of the common ones, so far so good. Watched TV

A few weeks later I decided to use the TV stick for ny daughter, booted up the laptop, started the TV software only to be told that my beta version had expired. Apparently the only way to stop this is to buy the professional version of the software from the manufacturer.

Update
I downloaded the update from the website, this version has not expired and so the suppliers must have revised the download, now it works fine - you still need a good ariel and signal for it to work though
