5 out of 5 stars Great reception as well - no loss of channels   November 3, 2009

Some people experience poor quality image when replacing a freewview box with a more expansive PVR box. It happened to me when I upgraded my freeview box with a Daewoo DSD9502T PVR.

With this Topfield TF5800 model you have the signal quality the same or better than the box you are replacing. It is well worth the extra money.

So easy to set-up and use, so many features, can't think of anything bad to say about it..

4 out of 5 stars Easy Peasy for a Non-Techie   June 3, 2009

I ordered this Topfield on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. With little experience of setting up these machines, I have it all up and running now, and have already set it to record programs today. The picture is excellent and does not have the constant sound breaks which my cheapo recorder from Asda had. I purchased this after reading all the good reviews and I don't think I'll be disappointed. Obviously there is a lot more this model can do, but you can also use it just to record and play back in a simple way. It's a sophisticated piece of kit which does what it says on the box and seems very good value for money. I won't criticise the EPG for being a bit long winded, as that seems a bit mean considering the quality of the picture and ease of installation.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing Machine ********** Well Done Topfield   March 19, 2009

Have to agree with all the other reviews on this fabulous machine

As a woman and being non-techy some of this new technology frightens me - but not this little gem.

It arrived at 10.45am by courier. I had it installed and set to record within FIFTEEN MINUTES!!

Easy to use, instruction manual is well-written in plain English for us non-techy folks.

Topfield get five stars ***** from me for this invention.

5 out of 5 stars Forget the others   February 14, 2009

The best thing since sliced bread. 250GB drive takes huge amounts and has a wonderful filing system option of multiple folders.
Twin tuner, of course.
Instructions written by somebody intelligent whose native language is English (UK).
Never had lip-sync problems on this.
As you get to know this machine you realise it was designed by a team who had thrown all the other brands out of the window in frustration.
Now I know why all the PVR 'tekkies' say Topfield (or possibly Humax) is the only brand to have. And it doesn't take a 'tekkie' to drive it.
Buy one.
